Image
In my last blog, I had mentioned that I am at home after almost a year, therefore I am enjoying different delicacies prepared at home. Moreover, I am also cooking a lot of dishes. We have just celebrated Maagh Bihu ( 13th to 15th January) which is the festival for feasting and merry making.  Maagh Bihu is also a time for feast and merry making as our harvesting is over and duck is the most preferred meat. During this time duck meat tastes great and this dish is one of the most preferred dish in Upper Assam. The meat is cooked with white gourd and is served to family and to our respected guests. I had cooked this dish in the traditional mud stove as it tastes better if cooked in a traditional way. INGREDIENTS  Onion paste (1 or 2 ) Garlic paste (7 - 8 cloves) Ginger paste - 2 tsp Jeera powder (cumin powder) 1and a half tsp Dhania Powder (coriander powder) 1 tsp Pepper powder 1/2 tsp Turmeric 1 tsp Potatoes (cut in cube size - 4 peice...

Naga Pork Curry

Image
Hey friends! I am currently at home (Guwahati, Assam) for my vacation after almost a year and I am trying out different traditional stuff in the kitchen. Northeast has many tribes and communities and each have their distinct cuisine, however  is one common thing which makes our dishes different from the rest of India is that we add very little to no spices. The herbs used add great taste to our dishes and is rich in iron, vitamins and minerals. I love pork therefore, instead of the usual pork fry and curry that I normally make, I thought of cooking the pork in Naga style using Akhuni (fermented soyabeans), Anishi ( dried yam leaves) and black sesame seeds. To make this pork curry using Akhuni (fermented soyabeans), Anishi ( dried yam leaves) and black sesame seeds, do check out the steps given below: Ingredients: 1/2 kg Smoked pork 2 tbsp of Black sesame seeds 1 tbsp Akhuni Anishi- 2 tbsp/ 2 cakes 4-5 gloves of garlic 1 ginger 1 tbsp Red ch...

I went ahead and installed the App to check out the brands and products they are selling on their site and I was also curious about the free samples they were offering. As soon as you install the app and sign up, it does not allow you to request for the free samples. It is an invite-only App and after signing up, they will review your account which may take a day or sometimes a week. The Interface of the Smytten App My account got reviewed in a day and I was requested to sele...

Body Shop haul

Image
Hey friends, Recently I made a purchase from Body Shop and today I am going to write a review on the products I bought. I have heard a lot of good reviews about the strawberry shower gel and the Shea whipped body lotion, therefore I made a purchase of the two. First I would share my views on the strawberry shower gel which I have used for at least 2 weeks. My honest opinion is that every time I use it, I feel like eating the gel as it smell so yummy like a strawberry. The skin becomes soft and supple after a wash but I wish the fruity smell lingered for long. It smells exactly like a strawberry. Pros: Makes skin soft. yummy fruity taste. can last up to 2 months not heavy on the pockets Cons: Is not foamy enough but that is not a problem Price: Rs 325 - 799 You can purchase it from Flipkart, Amazon or Nykaa. Sauteed Mushroom and Broccolli- Chinese style

Yummy sauteed mushroom and broccoli  Hey there friends, Wishing you a great New Year 2018! Its been a while I have written something as I have been busy lately due to work and other commitments. However, I finally got the time to write something down. Today, I would be sharing my vegan recipe - sauteed mushroom and broccoli.  I am a die hard non-vegetarian gorging on all things meat and being working all the time and having less time to workout, I have put on weight lately. Therefore, I finally decided that its high time I let myself loose to the temptation of unhealthy food and start a healthy diet. I have started eating healthy, having less meat and junk food. This weekend I went veggie shopping and prepared this yummy recipe in an instant and I must say that it takes little effort to make a yummy veggie dish while it drains my skills out to make the perfect meat dish, be it chicken, pork or duck. Cut mushrooms, broccoli, shallots, capsicum So, to ...
